I believe the 5 tips that a LPO must know is.

1) Listen, Listen, Listen

2)  Mentorship is important as anything you will ever do in your career. Train the person below you to do your job and the person below them to do there job.

3) Do not be the “Yes” Man/Women make the hard decision when necessary.

4) Never be the LPO that is “In the old Navy” Things change people change be a great leader and accept the changes with grace and posture rember you were “New Navy once before”.

5) I truly believe in MCPON Views on deck plate leadership for the chief level but you are a chief in the making put that chief out of a job. If you have not read the MCPONS 1st class guidelines you are behind the power curve.  I’m sure there something I have missed but these are the value I try to bring everyday. I do believe each person out there has there own views and ways of doing business. Take the good and bad do not hold onto the bad rember it but do not let it be!
come you.
